My name is Debbie, I am a mum of 4 boys in my mid 4os, and I have had a weight problem all my life.
I have dieted many times before and even though I do really well, the weight always seems to go back on. The last time I lost 5 stone and then stopped losing weight, so I went on the Cambridge diet. All I ate was a chicken salad every day for 12 weeks. I lost no weight at all.
I had an injury in my leg to which stopped me from exercising. I then went into a 6 month depression and the weight piled back on again. For the last few years I really felt that there was nothing I could do to lose weight. I also had health problems that were contributing to the weight gain and I felt I had no hope.
In 2016 I decided that enough was enough and I resolved to make a change once and for all. I wanted to journal my experiences to help keep me on track, however I have dyslexia and I don’t find reading easy. I see things a lot better visually so I decided to draw my feelings rather than write them down.
I started journalling and illustrating my weight loss journey at the beginning of 2016 and have decided to share my pictures with you. They tell the story of my personal experiences of dieting, detox, exercise and weight loss in visual form, and they speak straight from my heart.
I have an amazing support network, including my husband Matt, my nutritionist Jenny and some close friends who have cheered me on every step of the way. Without their help and my faith in God I know that I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I have achieve to date.
